Kathleen Novak Obituary

            Kathleen Marie Novak, 73, of Oil City, died Saturday, March 23, 2024 at UPMC Hamot Hospital in Erie, following an extended illness. 

            She was born in New York City on April 5, 1950 to the late John W. Novak Sr. and Betty M. (Adams) Novak. 

            Kathleen was an avid traveler and had lived in Spain, Mexico, France, and loved the New England states, having lived in Rhode Island before moving to the Oil City area.

           Kathleen loved and was dedicated to her Main Coone cats, whom she bred, trained and showed off in cat shows. She will be dearly missed by Aurora, Acadia, Palma, Quimby, and Quechee. 

            Kathleen attended Seneca United Methodist Church as well as the Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City.  She was a kind soul and a friend to everyone. 

            In her younger years, she enjoyed skiing, ice skating, playing the piano, and horseback riding. 

            Kathleen worked in the computer and technology field for many years. 

            She is survived by her nieces, Pauline Novak and her son Liam Novak of Mexico, Harmony Kerrick and her son Atlas Lanz of Georgia, and Jessica Kerrick of Alabama; her sister-in-law, Manuela Novak of Playa del Carmen, Mexico; and her close friends, Todd and Laurie Sandrock of Dempseytown. 

            She was preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, Jim Kerrick, and Michael, John, and Scott Novak. 

            A memorial service to celebrate Kathleen’s life will be held Wednesday, March 27th at 11 a.m. in the Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City, with Rev. Tim Harmon, officiating.
